These folks were out on an expedition in the Sea of Cortez when they cam upon a humpback whale who had been badly entangled in a fisherman’s net. She wasn’t going to be able to breathe much longer, as her fins were bound to her body and she was exhausted.

Watch this adventure as they decide to cut her free, foot by foot, finally releasing her from the net. The best part? Although whales can’t talk, they are clearly intelligent, social and emotional. Starting at about 6:30, these boaters get the show of their lives. Clearly, the whale is saying “Thank you”.

“At first glance, it seems like a kid with a supercool sweater with a Japanese character. The problem is that the character 痔 means “hemorrhoid” in Japanese. I was once talking to a white activist who was photographing “bike commuters” and had only pictures of white people with the occasional “black professional” I asked her why she didn’t photograph the delivery people, construction workers etc. … ie. the black and Hispanic and Asian people… and she mumbled something about trying to “improve the image of biking” then admitted that she didn’t really see them as part of the “green movement” since they “probably have no choice” –

I was so mad I wanted to quit working on the project she and I were collaborating on.

I dunno, I tried to read her “novel” and if they fired her, Gaider, Mary and uhhh the other guy they could have an actual game studio again rather than a dating sims factory, but that’s just my opinion I guess.

What exactly is wrong with dating sims? Maybe if that aspect of the game doesn’t appeal to you, you should skip it or find another franchise.

Until now, your Google Web History (your Google searches and sites visited) was cordoned off from Google’s other products. This protection was especially important because search data can reveal particularly sensitive information about you, including facts about your location, interests, age, sexual orientation, religion, health concerns, and more. If you want to keep Google from combining your Web History with the data they have gathered about you in their other products, such as YouTube or Google Plus, you may want to remove all items from your Web History and stop your Web History from being recorded in the future.

Don’t forget, you can use Duck Duck Go for searching. They don’t save your history or anything.

Seriously, though this is kind of a big deal. Know that big problem we have? You know, the one involving a crapload of used plastic hanging around in landfills with nowhere to biodegrade for a couple million years? Well, Jonathan Russell might’ve solved that problem. See, Russell and his fellow Yale students went to Ecuador, where they found a new kind of fungus they’re calling Pestalotiopsis microspora. Big deal, you’re thinking. Anyone can find fungus anywhere! Well, something his fellow students found out after the fact is that this fungus can live on a diet of polyurethane alone — and even crazier, it doesn’t even need air to do so! In other words, we could potentially put it at the bottom of a landfill and cover it with plastic, and it would do the rest of the work. This might be game-changing if it works as advertised.
